Tanesha Ash-Shakoor is a domestic violence expert & survivor who has dedicated her life to advocating for and saving victims and survivors of domestic violence. After graduating from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and establishing Voices of Color in 2015, she has accomplished immeasurable goals.
  • Advocacy: Tanesha uses her personal experience as a survivor to serve as an advocate for victims and survivors of domestic violence. She shares her story and insights to raise awareness about the issue, provide support to those in need and to advocate for legislation that impacts survivors.
  • Founder & CEO: Tanesha is the Founder and CEO of Voices of Color, an organization that aims to empower and support individuals affected by domestic violence, particularly those from marginalized communities. Through her leadership, she has created a platform for survivors to share their stories and find resources for healing and recovery.
  • Expert Witness: Tanesha is an expert witness in domestic violence cases, using her legal background to provide valuable insights and support to survivors within the legal system
  • Community Impact: Tanesha's work has had a significant impact on her community. She has been recognized as the winner of the WLNS Remarkable Women award for her dedication to making her community a better place.
